Walking more than 25 to 30 minutes a day is a great way to improve heart health and lung function. It is never too late to start your exercise journey. It is not necessary to do strenuous exercise in the gym for that. You can always start the exercise journey by making small lifestyle and dietary changes, as well as incorporating walking into an integral part of your daily life.

According to the American Heart Association, your heart rate for moderate-intensity exercise is 50 to 70 percent of 'maximum heart rate', while your heart rate for active activity is 70 to 85 percent 'maximum. The maximum heart rate is 220 beats per minute. Measure your heart rate by placing your index and middle finger on the wrist. The nutritionist says it should be 95–162 bpm for a 30-year-old.
